New Carpa Theater Co. is a local nonprofit that stages Latino and multicultural works. "Right Turns" is created by ASU Professor, Julie Amparano Garcia, and produced and directed by husband, James Garcia. Also performed at the Herberger Theater, "Right Turns" depicts a heart-felt, humorous relationship between a daughter and father, and the challenging balancing act of work and family. Miranda is late – once again. Her boss needs her promotion file today, which could determine whether or not she makes partner in the prestigious law firm. But what about her father, who needs his radiation treatment today, too? Determined to do both, Miranda finds herself unraveling while driving her father to his appointment. Until she realizes that, sometimes, turning right can be the easiest thing to do.
