Welcome to Surprise, Arizona
Enjoy a classic comedy brought to life through a meaningful community collaboration.
Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple is one of the most recognized American comedies, written by a U.S. Army veteran whose work often explored everyday relationships with honesty and humor. This production was selected in part to honor that legacy — connecting a well-loved, accessible story with the lived experiences and voices of veteran communities.
The play follows two mismatched roommates — one neat, one messy — as they navigate friendship, routines and the realities of sharing space. Its sharp wit and familiar situations have made it a lasting favorite, offering both laughter and moments of recognition.
This production is presented by Arizona Frontline Theater, an entity of the Silent Survivors Project. Through theater, they work to share veteran stories and create space for dialogue around mental health in military and veteran communities. By pairing a widely known, approachable play with this mission, the performance invites audiences in while supporting broader awareness, understanding and connection.
